Following are short descriptions of some of the Architectural and Engineering services frequently provided by Hasbrouck Peterson Zimoch Sirirattumrong.

Programming and Analysis. Hasbrouck Peterson Zimoch Sirirattumrong has frequently been retained to plan and/or assess the initial feasibility of a new building program, building acquisition, restoration, conservation, and adaptive reuse. Our staff is skilled at this type of analysis and is able to clearly define client needs and match them to the possibilities offered by various solutions. Project programming work has frequently included the development of multi-phased building programs and master plans that are implemented over a number of years.

Design. HPZS has designed a wide variety of building types and sizes for both new and existing building programs, including commercial, residential, recreational, institutional, governmental, educational, and industrial buildings. Our design process begins with a thorough understanding of the client's needs, schedule, and budget, and proceeds through the development of diagrams indicating the relationships of spaces, function, and activities through concept drawings and special analysis to schematic design.

Contract Documents and Site Supervision. Hasbrouck Peterson Zimoch Sirirattumrong has prepared architectural and engineering working drawings and specifications for numerous projects of all types and sizes. The size of projects has ranged from small consulting assignments to work on individual projects with construction costs in excess of $20 million and on phased construction projects valued in excess of $50 million. The preparation of clear, complete, and concise construction document drawings and specifications is recognized as an essential communication tool between the architect/engineer and the owner, the contractors and building trades. HPZS has identified and worked with numerous skilled craftsmen, suppliers, and contractors who are able to deliver the quality of work our clients require while staying within established budgets.

Interior Design.  HPZS’ interior design capabilities include providing for residential and commercial functions, as well as the selection and/or design and purchase of finishes, furniture, fixtures, and other building equipment.

 

 

Adaptive Reuse. The staff of HPZS is experienced in the analysis, design and rehabilitation of existing structures and sites. Design emphasis is on the seamless blending of current planning, fiscal and market requirements with the sympathetic, appropriate rehabilitation and reuse of older buildings. The firm has developed special expertise in the interior and exterior cleaning of older buildings, the replacement of damaged or missing building elements, and the use of substitute materials in order to retain or regain the original effect of an historic element.

Historic Preservation. Hasbrouck Peterson Zimoch Sirirattumrong has participated in and completed many projects involving all aspects of historic preservation, including architectural and historical research, national register nominations, physical material research, historic site planning, historic building and district surveys, structural and materials condition analysis, mortar analysis, paint serration, technical writing, the use of governmental tax incentive programs for the rehabilitation of historic properties, etc. Its work in this area has included significant roles in the documentation, preservation, and rehabilitation of over 150 international, national, state and local historic landmarks and has been recognized through numerous awards.  The office has worked extensively with a number of Historic Preservation Offices and Agencies on both a national and state level.

Planning.  HPZS has been responsible for the planning and exterior design of school sites, parks, community centers, exhibits, residential sites, and commercial sites.  HPZS also has experience working with historic buildings and properties, both individually and in conjunction with adjacent properties, and larger groups of buildings within their surrounding context.

Materials and Building Failure and Conservation Analysis. Hasbrouck Peterson Zimoch Sirirattumrong frequently serves as a consultant to owners as well as other architects and engineers for the analysis of existing buildings and materials. Work in this area has included maintenance audits, façade inspections, reserve studies and building system surveys.  HPZS is particularly skilled at analyzing building problems and developing cost-effective solutions to those problems.

Research. Research activities include extensive work on the development of advanced industrialized approaches to building and prefabrication which has been applied to residential and commercial development in the U.S. and abroad.
